To embed these approaches within the context of the environment and ecosystems, simultaneously addressing negative interactions that endanger both human and environmental health within an integrated ecological system. To use systems approaches to enhance ecosystems that, in one dimension, safeguard the coastal environment and, in another, influence the health and well-being of inhabitants.
